Looking Ahead to 35 Years of WHVP: A Family Legacy in Swiss Wealth Management
As we begin a new year, we’re not only looking forward—but also taking a moment to look back. This year in October, WHVP will celebrate a remarkable milestone: 35 years of helping Americans protect their wealth through Swiss offshore banking. As we prepare to mark this anniversary, we’ll be reflecting throughout the year on the people, values, and decisions that shaped WHVP into what it is today: a trusted, independent, and family-owned wealth management firm built to last.
A Vision That Started With a Single Step
Th
e WHVP story began in 1991, when our founder, Robert Vrijhof, decided to take an unconventional step. With a background in Swiss private banking, he recognized that American investors were facing growing risks that domestic solutions couldn’t always solve. From the declining value of the U.S. dollar to increasing exposure to lawsuits and political instability, Robert saw the need for a truly international, discreet, and secure approach to wealth preservation. At a time when very few firms focused on cross-border services for American clients, he chose to build one from the ground up.
Built on Independence, Grown Through Trust
From day one, WHVP was founded on the idea of independence—not just in financial strategy, but in spirit. As a privately owned, boutique firm, we never set out to become the biggest. Instead, we focused on being the most trusted partner for U.S. clients looking to diversify and protect their wealth abroad.
Over the years, this mission drew in a growing number of Americans—entrepreneurs, retirees, families, and business owners—who wanted something different. Not mass-produced financial advice, but personal relationships. Not short-term performance, but long-term protection. Not complexity, but clarity.
A Family Business in Every Sense
I
n 2020, WHVP entered its second generation of family leadership when Robert passed the baton to his daughter, Jamie Vrijhof-Droese, and her business partner, Urs Vrijhof-Droese. With deep experience in both finance and international affairs, they brought fresh perspective and energy while maintaining the core values WHVP was built on: transparency, integrity, and personal service.
Today, WHVP remains a true family business—not only in ownership but in how we work with our clients. We believe in long-term relationships. In clear, honest conversations. In being reachable when it matters. And in offering a steady hand through ever-changing financial landscapes.
Looking Toward October—and Beyond
While the official anniversary will be in fall, we’ll be celebrating throughout the year.
We’ll also be looking forward—continuing to invest in our team, our services, and the long-term security of our clients. Because while a 35-year history is worth celebrating, we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.
Whether you’ve been with us since the early days or are just discovering WHVP, thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to a year of reflection, connection, and continued commitment to protecting what matters most.
