WHVP Year in Review 2023
Embarking on a journey of reflection, we invite you to join us in revisiting the pivotal moments that shaped WHVP's path in the past year. From regulatory milestones and industry accolades to the arrival of new talent, each milestone has contributed to our growth and commitment to exceptional Swiss wealth management for Americans. As we delve into these moments, we celebrate our dedication to safeguarding legacies and navigating the intricate world of international finance.
The year took off with a fulminant start when the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) granted an asset management license to us in February. For WHVP, as an SEC registered investment advisor, the authorization is an important milestone and the result of a significant effort of the whole team, but especially the months of hard work our colleague Daniel Koller has put in. For the first time, we are now regulated on a national legislative framework in Switzerland, which gives our profession significantly more weight. To receive FINMA's recognition, high standards had to be met. The approval process was very demanding and required over a year of preparation. The new status will positively impact our competitiveness and further strengthen the attractiveness of independent asset managers in Switzerland. The new licensing requirements will improve the already excellent reputation of the Swiss wealth management industry, especially for those looking to use Switzerland as an offshore investing destination.
Just a month later, we have been handed the honor of winning several WealthBriefing Awards. As a company, we were awarded 'Best Client Communications' and 'Overall Digital Engagement,' and our CEO Jamie Vrijhof-Droese was awarded 'Thought Leadership' as well as 'Rising Star Under 40' at The Third Annual WealthBriefing Swiss EAM Awards 2023. The judges note that WHVP has defined a clear digital strategy by using different channels to engage with its clients exceptionally. Potential and existing clients note the firm's informative presence online. "A true pioneer amongst the Swiss External Asset Managers," commented one of the judges.
Later in Spring, we were proud to announce that Urs Vrijhof-Droese, one of our Managing Partners, has been elected to the board of the Swiss Registered Investment Advisor Association (SRIAA). This appointment reflects Urs' expertise and commitment to the investment management industry and underscores WHVP's dedication to professional excellence and leadership in serving U.S. clients out of Switzerland. SRIAA is a prestigious industry association that empowers its members to provide high-quality financial services and compliant solutions to U.S. clients and international clientele with U.S.-related planning circumstances.
Last summer, we welcomed Nicolò Morra as our summer intern for two months before he commenced his university studies. With a keen interest in wealth management, Nicolò joined us, eager to explore the nuances of this field. Throughout his tenure, he supported us in administrative tasks and contributed to various marketing initiatives, gaining hands-on experience across different aspects of our operations.
At the end of summer, we participated in a team workshop where we communicated our new slogan: Preserving Legacies since 1991 through street art. As a Swiss wealth manager serving U.S. clients, we understand individuals' unique challenges and uncertainties in today's economic and political landscape. At WHVP, our mission is simple yet profound: we provide offshore wealth management solutions that mitigate risks and capitalize on international opportunities because every American deserves to preserve their legacy. For over three decades, we have been committed to helping hundreds of individuals preserve their hard-earned legacies. Our longevity in the industry speaks to our expertise, integrity, and dedication to providing top-notch wealth management solutions.
"Swiss Money Secrets," our company's podcast, had a stellar year, gaining traction for its deep dives into offshore banking and Swiss finance. It became a go-to resource for understanding cross-border wealth management, Switzerland, and the nuances of international investments. The podcast informs and empowers our audience by featuring expert interviews and insightful discussions, evident in its growing listenership and positive feedback. Its success underscores our dedication to providing valuable financial education.
Our frequent trips to the U.S. have been invaluable in fostering strong connections with clients, prospects, and business partners. These visits have facilitated meaningful face-to-face interactions and provided us with a platform to share our expertise by speaking at various conferences and events. These trips have been instrumental in solidifying our presence in the U.S. market, enabling us to establish trust, exchange ideas, and further our commitment to delivering exceptional service and value to our network. If you would like to meet in the U.S. in 2024, do not hesitate to contact us.
And with that, we extend our warmest seasonal greetings to all who've been part of our journey. We look forward to continued collaborations, fruitful conversations, and shared successes in the upcoming year. We wish you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year ahead!
